The Movie “Let the Right One In” is a Swedish film directed by Thomas Alfredson and is inspired from the novel of the same title by John Ajvide Lindqvist. The movie takes place in the suburbs of a Swedish town where Oskar is being bullied by his classmates. He takes the torment until he suddenly meets Eli, a mysterious girl who comes with her fake father Hakans whom, strangely enough block the windows with cardboard. As Oskar goes about his life being tormented by his bullies does he grow a relationship with Eli and later finds out that she is a vampire who needs to feed on blood and gets into trouble after a few altercations with the town folk that she kills.

One of the many points the Movie “Let the Right one In” Directed by Thomas Alfredson, shows is a point on Social Isolation that comes from two different points of view. One, from the character Oskar and the other from the Vampire character, Eli. Both of them live in isolated lives, where Oskar other than being bullied by his peers also is neglected by his parents as they try to cope with being divorced. Eli on the other lives a life of the night where cannot talk to people in the day because of her weakness to the sun which isolates her from a lot of the world outside, as well her fake father always trying to hide her so she can be safe from the harm that would possibly come if she were ever to be found out.

This social isolation comes from different points of view that connect the characters, Oskar and Eli together from their lonely world as they interact with each other. This can also be shown in other works about vampires, such as in the television show ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer” Shows the main character, Buffy, becoming Socially Isolated by her peers through her circumstance of being the new person in school on the Episode “ Welcome to the Hellmouth”. Though they are in a bit of different circumstances, one of reality and the other more fantastical they somehow came together as if to draw a relatable line of interest amongst the audience on the themes of Social Isolation through these characters.
