The T.V show “Buffy the Vampire Slayer" first aired in 1997 and is a show about a teen girl named Buffy who moves to a new town to start her life over after burning down her old school’s gym. Buffy is no ordinary teen, she is a vampire slayer. Going to a new school is not an easy thing to do but being already so different only complicates things way more. The vampires in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" are portrayed as creatures that target teenagers. The vampires in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" go after teenagers because the teens are vulnerable. Teens are the outcast of society because they are mischievous and even sometimes blamed for problems. Teens are used as a form of scapegoating for a other issues that are completely unrelated. Teens are more of an outcast in society because of the blame they are given and the difficulty for wanting to fit in to some group but they are dealing with so many insecurities that the vampires in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" feed off because teens are so vulnerable and desperate to have connection. These vampires prey and target these teens that are too weak to stand up for themselves. The show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" does it this way because it is showing that teens are not troublesome but are troubled and unless they are helped then problems can occur because they will fall in with a bad crowd or struggle so desperately and the vampires are society always targeting teens that just need a little help and looking for a way to fit in to this society. This is one reason way the teens in this show are so easy to fool because they just want some kind of connection that will help them carry out through their daily lives.
