Events in "I Was A Teenage Werewolf" Edit
In the 1957 film I Was A Teenage Werewolf, Tony was a teenager who has an anger problem and easily got mad. He gets in a fight at school and the police get involved. Tony's uncontrollable anger reveals much about him, that he closely resembles a wild animal and deep down he is a beast. They tell Tony that he should see Dr. Brandon, a psychologist. Dr. Brandon is a twisted man, and tells Tony that he is perfect for a new medicine that he created. The medicine is supposed to suppress personality and bring it back to a primal state. When he injects Tony with this serum, Tony gets the ability to transform into a werewolf. The werewolf serum is not similar to The Werewolf's Daughter , where Tony gets the ability to transform into a werewolf not by birth, but by an item, such as the serum. This is unlike The Werewolf's Daughter because the father was born a werewolf, and does not need a medicine to turn into one "The father was a werewolf". Anytime Tony becomes startled or aggressive, his physical appearance and his mind morphs into that of a werewolf. Tony's' appearance as a werewolf is different from most adaptations. His lycanthropy does not change his size, speed, or strength, but causes him to have hair all across his body, sharp teeth and claws. This is different from the story Little Red Riding Hood, as the werewolf is portrayed as a large wolf who can talk and think like a human stating "Your grandchild, Little Red Riding Hood," replied the wolf, counterfeiting her voice; "who has brought you a cake and a little pot of butter sent you by mother.". Tony does not think like a human, and thinks more as a feral, uncontrollable beast, where the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood knew exactly what she was doing. Tony has several instances where something triggers his animalistic werewolf state, and ends up killing numerous people. He later goes back to Dr. Brandon to ask him for help, and Dr. Brandon lies to Tony and says he will help him, and injects him with the serum again. A ringing phone puts Tony back in his werewolf state, and Tony kills the doctor and his assistant. The police arrive and shoot Tony, reversing him back to his human state and killing him. Tony's animalistic nature and Dr. Brandon's serum proved to be a tragedy for Tony, but nonetheless were integral to the film I Was A Teenage Werewolf.
